Emotional   Freedom   Technique

“I've lost count of the number of phobias, panic/anxiety attacks, traumatic memories, guilt, grief and physical ailments that have been elegantly relieved by this procedure.”  -Gary Craig-

What is EFT ?

Benefits of the acupression :

EFT focuses on the body's subtle energies. Our meridians correspond to the vessels which circulate our energies. When we feel negative emotions, all energies circulating in our meridians are disrupted and causes blockages. In EFT we activate these acupuncture points by tapping on them with the fingertips to release these blockages.

Benefits on neuroanatomy :

Several scientific studies demonstrate that EFT could allow the formation of new patterns of neuronal connections in our limbic system (the brain of our emotions). This means that for the same triggering situation, the brain is changing the path it normally uses and now goes through the new one. The consequence would be a modification in our emotional response to the triggering situation, we therefore feel like “emotionally desensitized”.

During the session

During the session, in all kindness, we dedicate time for exchange and dialogue. Alongside addressing verbally the issues, we'll stimulate specific points on the relevant meridians using gentle tapping. Combining oral affirmation and meridian stimulation creates micro-vibrations along them which aims to dissolve blockages. The goal is to take a step back, to feel lighter and feel less sensitive to the trigger of our stress, sadness, blockage, trauma, etc.

A bit of history

In the 1970s, different scientists from across the globe found that having their patients focusing on an emotional or physical problem while stimulating acupuncture points could bring surprising relief in their fears, phobias and stress.

In 1995, Gary Craig (a Stanford engineer and a certified Master practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming), inspired by his teachers and the work of his predecessors, conducted additional researches in order to establish a global protocol which everyone could use. EFT was born. As part of the family of brief therapies (like hypnosis, EMDR, NLP or TCC), EFT focuses on quickly resolving the problem.
